MySQL Question

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

After reading Rogers example of reading from a DB via DBI, I started
thinking... How does one write to a MySQL DB. At first, I thought it
would be *easy*. Then I rememebered something- locking. Does MySQL
support table or record locking? Is there something the programmer needs
to do to detect and do the appropriate work around or does DBI do that for
us behind the sceens??

perldoc DBI doesn't appear to have the answer.
