Well I'm trying to find out why the username in the http header doesn't
get passed down to the PHP module.  Hopefully it's a configuration
problem with the server so we can avoid all this.  (I still feel pretty
strongly that we should do the authentication in the server not the
pages.)

Hmm... PHP doesn't look too difficult to learn... one day. :-)
