I filed a bug on this:
[ 1753280 ] sometimes you can't move a line up/left from start
I discovered that resizing the window fixes it. I almost always
resize right away, so I rarely see it, but when I was doing lots
of regression testing I wasn't bothering with the resize.
Because the resize fixes it, I'm guessing it's a field that's not
initialized at startup but IS initialized by resize.
