gEDA-user: gsch2pcb creating board.pcb syntax errors?

Well, I upgraded a million prereqs and build geda/gaf from source.
The only change is now the same command also prints this error:

	ERROR: Unbound variable: nil

It still builds an incorrect pcb file.

Can anyone give me an idea of where to look in the source to track
this down?
