gEDA-user: Is the Guile 1.8.x dependancy holding back testing?

Hi all,

I just wanted to hear if the guile 1.8.x dependency is causing people
problems, or is preventing them from testing / using the unstable
development branch (if they wish to).

If so, I have a small patch which introduces replacements for guile 1.8
functions if they are missing (making gaf compatible with 1.6.x again).

I just wanted to hear if this is wanted or not before I figure out how
to tie it all in with the autoconf system.

Have we moved on since guile 1.6.x?
