Hmm. The other day, I drew symbols for the SO8 version of 78L05, 79L05. I
put the four GND pins on top of each other so the resulting symbol looks
like the tree terminal regulator it really is. gsymcheck issued big fat
errors due to "connection inside a symbol". This is odd, because
connections inside a component is exactly what I wanted to reflect.
So, the correct way to deal with this would be a three pin symbol and a
dedicated SO8 footprint in which four pads bear the same name?
