gEDA-dev: Compositing with gschem

I was trying to figure out where I'd got a nasty bug in my code just
now... and it turns out that gschem does NOT play nicely with a 3D
compositing desktop.
(I've been hacking on X video driver bugs on and off this past week, and
had compositing turned on to test some of those).
Its a shame... the Ubuntu release in say 2 days time will ship with
compositing switched on, meaning any new gEDA users will find dragging
objects around at any sensible zoom level consumes near 100% CPU and
doesn't generally give a pleasant user experience.
Just a heads-up in case we get any bug reports on this issue. Hopefully
its something we can fix anyway in the fullness of time.
Best wishes,
