gEDA-dev: gEDA + PCB Mime types?

It seems that gEDA and PCB need some MIME types registering, and I
suspect that the gEDA "organisation" qualifies for the vnd. tree of
registrations.

We'll need to do a bit of work to get things rolling, but I think this
will benefit us in the long run in terms of desktop integration.

(This is a recognised standard, so probably gets a "proper" standard
MIME type, but requires a standard to be published, and a more formal
aprovals process. This may have to be done by / via the standards body
which ratified the RS-274X standard.)
Does anyone think its a good idea to try and register these mime-types
with IANA officially?
Is anyone willing to help me do any necessary leg work?
Best wishes,
