Actually, I'm currently planning to spend the summer doing some research on 
nanoelectromechanical systems with one of my supervisors.  However, I hope to 
find some gEDA hacking time anyway!

And I wasn't suggesting they should.  Personally, I think that the money 
should be saved up for when the project really needs it (e.g. keeping SEUL 
running).
