	I just built guile-1.8.1 on an Opteron:
2.6.18-4-amd64 #1 SMP Fri May 4 00:37:33 UTC 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux

	and one of the tests fails:

but running make check in test-suite completes without any errors.  How 
are you running the test suite?
