Gah! Okay, so this whole thread has gone to hell. I'm sorry
I caused this whole mess.
My only point is that suddenly changing a working and stable
code base to something completely brand new (that is, taking your code
base and suddenly making mainstream gEDA/gaf) is highly risky and will
most likely upset existing users (that don't expect the rug to change
under them so suddenly). Maybe this was not your intention, but how
should I have interpreted the following exchange then?

Well, I was shooting for converging in libeda version 3.
