The idea is to create a library -- and a set of bindings -- that applications
can link with easily, without having to worry about the API continuously
changing. Ideally, the ABI should be stabilized too.
I want to make it easy for people to quickly hack together little programs for
manipulating gEDA schematics without any gschem-isms getting in the way.
This might include anything from new GUIs, to part library tools, etc.
It would also be a good step on the way to getting desktop environments like
KDE or GNOME to include native support for seeing thumbnails of gEDA
schematics in file browsers, for instance.
