gEDA-dev: git repository broken again

Hi folks,

The admins at CUED have broken my git mirror of the gEDA CVS repository, this
time for good, I suspect.

Questions:

 (1) Has anyone other than myself and Peter C. used it, and if so, did you
     find it useful?

 (2) Would it be possible to host it on SEUL in such a way that it gets
updated whenever a change to CVS occurs? (I'm thinking post-commit-hook).

 (3) Is there any interest in switching to it as the main development system?
The atomic changesets, ease of branching/merging and the ability to view
history without waiting for the CVS server are arguments in favour,
especially in the view of the ever-increasing number of gEDA developers.

I hope to be on IRC this afternoon during the code sprint, and I'd like to
discuss both the version control system issues as well as improving the
selection support -- where should it live, gschem or libgeda?

Speak to you all later,

Peter
