It is exactly what the name suggests --- An editor specialized to man 
page syntax. The man page is presented with the sections in tree view. 
Header information can easily be accessed, there are shortcut buttons for 
common tags and there is a preview available. The application is GPLed 
and seems to be actively maintained (current version is from 02/2007). 
The GUI uses GTK 1.2. Although the home page talks about an "internal XML 
interface" the Debian package of manedit does not depend on any XML 
library.

    * UNIX
