and with ECL, older ECL parts ran with VCC=0 and VEE=-5.2 volts. But it
wasn't that unusual to see them powered with VCC=5V and VEE=0. That was
my first exposure to the joys of implicit power pins....
I think it's going to be hard at best to come up with a foolproof scheme.
