gEDA-dev: GAF wish list addition - complex boards having multiple logic families

Hi Steve,
How could be this done? Adding an special attribute to each part
(family=HC) and embedding a family table into the drc2 backend so it
could check what is ok? This won't be so difficult.

But... are you ready to fight with all the associated problems? I mean:
each vendor could have different names for the same technology, and the
compatibility between families can heavily depend on the supply voltage.

So... it you can give me a simple checking algorithm for this, maybe it
can be added someday....
