I'm giving out accounts to anyone who asks, but I want some
accountability.  Unaccountable symbols are risky, and that risk falls
on the site owner, not the contributor.  I also don't want ad bots
signing up and posting ads (or worse) all over the site.  I've seen
them attempt it on djgpp's mirror form, but that form make sure it's a
real mirror before adding it to the web site.  For gedasymbols, I let
people post more than just verifyable symbols, so there's no automated
way to "validate" them.

The other reason I don't automate the sign-up is because I want to
enforce the first_last standard.

Also, storing contributions by author is what CPAN does, it seems to
work for them.
