Hi All,

Some thoughts about attribute selection list by objects in gEDA gschem:
Currently system-gschemrc file allows the user to select attribute from
a single list of user configurable attributes. It would be nice if that
single list of attributes can be configured to be divided into 2 major
categories depending on if editing in .sch file or in .sym file.
Possible major and sub catigories can be :

  A) If editing schematic file (.sch)
     1) Schematic attributes list. (when no object is selected in .sch)
      2) Symbol Instance attributes list (for overriding default in
.sym; when a symbol instance is selected)
      3) Symbol Instance pin attributes list (not sure if this exists in
current gEDA; when pin instance is selected)
     4) Net attributes list (when a net is selected)

  B) If editing Symbol file (.sym)
     1) Symbol attributes list. (when no object selected in .sym)
     2) Symbol pin attributes list. (when pin is selected in .sym)

  C) If no (A) or (B):
     1) defaults to all attribute list

Just a thought, not sure how easy it can be implemented.

Best Regards
Paul Tan
