So why do all gEDA developers 1st platform is something UNIX? Why do we bother Linux at all? I think gEDA and Linux never want or wanted to beat/kill windoze. It's just another way. Like it or hate it. I use Linux.
gEDA is not just for hobbist. IF you want to use it, install cygwin or I don't know what, or install som UNIX, and you'll be fine. This is the concept of GNU.
I think gEDA is worth to have some UNIX.
