Hi,
Can I just say a big thank-you for tracking down the cause (and a
workaround) for this bug. PCB was driving me up the wall recently, as I
had to guess where to clicked based on the auto-panning.
I didn't know right click turned off the auto-pan until I read the
archives! I also found (I think) that it didn't exhibit the jumping
behaviour if I started the line such that I could hold the "shift" key
to change the angle of the initial line segment. (And still put the
track where I wanted).
The patch appears to work for me.
I'm not 100% convinced by gnome's assertion that it isn't their bug, as
it will only be seen by people using GNOME's Metacity window manager in
sloppy focus mode.
