I was thinking of including a mechanism built-in that all tools _had_ to use.
In order to avoid tools trampling on each others attributes by accident.
That way if a tool wanted to access an attribute 'belonging' to another tool,
it would have to request so specifically.
addAttribute('pcb', 'footprint', 'DIP20')
