Hi Chris. Last December, I used py2exe to make a
Windows versions of some small games:
http://www.scriptedfun.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/herder-windows.zip
http://www.scriptedfun.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/bounce-windows.zip
http://www.scriptedfun.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/flight-windows.zip
If I remember right, I used Python 2.4.4, Pygame
1.7.1, and py2exe 0.6.5 (I'm guessing that I didn't
use py2exe 0.6.6 because it was released New Year's
Eve :) ).
I used this VERY BASIC script (I removed the
comments):
from distutils.core import setup
import py2exe
setup(
windows = ["herder.py"]
)
Yes, it did produce a library.zip file. To add my
resources (images, sounds, font), I just copied them
into the dist folder, and everything just worked.
Although I had to replace all the None's into
'freesansbold.ttf' when using the default font.
