I will keep gtk+ 2.4.x as the minimal requirement for gEDA/gaf
for a while longer. However, it is okay to use #ifdef's if a developer
wants to use a gtk+ 2.6.x or greater feature (just make sure it still
builds on 2.4.x).
Unfortunately, at some point in time, my hand will be forced
(just like it was forced when going from 1.2.x to 2.x). The main reason
why I would drop gtk+ 2.4.x is if a significant number of distributions
stop shipping it. Granted, all dist still ship gtk+ 1.2.x, but wish me
luck if I have a development question/issue for that branch of gtk+.

PS. Hmmm, the configure tests for gschem still look for gtk+ 2.2.x,
does gaf still build using gtk+ 2.2.x or should I just update
the tests (to 2.4.x)?
