Then don't use it. I don't use it. I use xpdf.

Not that this would be a problem in this case but I have been having
issues with xpdf lately with drm infested pdfs. Ironically I live in
Massachusetts and they are frequently public docs. I guess ODF will
take some time.

It is certainly bad form for free software to require (or even
recommend) non-free software to view the documentation.

I could not agree more.

I think in time this will work itself out.  Wiki's to the
rescue.  Eventually, the doc source will be done as a wiki, and
you will be able to generate anything from that.

In one word Cool. Will this require Internet access during the build?
