gEDA: Writing PNG
[ Ales here, I'm reposting this since majordomo didn't recognize the
e-mail as being subscribed to the geda-dev mailinglist. ]
[ libgdgeda-config needs to be in your PATH somewhere. You can test this
by running:
libgdgeda-config --cflags --libs
This is what it returns on my system:
-I/usr/local/encap/libgdgeda-1.8//include
-L/usr/local/encap/libgdgeda-1.8//lib -lgdgeda -lpng -lz -lm
What does it return on yours?
Also you may want to delete all the config.cache files and then
do the make install:
find . -name "config.cache" -exec rm -f {} \;
(run that from the top level of where gaf is untarred). This is why
the ./configure isn't picking up the libgdgeda-config (I think).
Hope that helps.

Hi,
I have installed gaf version 20010722 with all the
optional packages under the latest Linux Mandrake. I
am unable to output my schematic into PNG format. I am
certain that libgdgeda, libpng and zlib are installed
and all the environment variables are setup
appropriately. The error message I get selecting the
write PNG menu item is "libgdgeda not insalled or
disabled, so this feature is disabled". Is there any
way to enable it. Apparently the "make configure"
script is looking for the "libgdgeda-config" file on
the system. Could you tell me where this file is
expected -- for I have copied it to a few different
locations and re-ran make install to no avail. The
message I get during make install is "checking for
libgdgeda-config ... (cached) no ". Any help in
resolving this issue is appreciated.
Thanks
George
