Re: gEDA-dev: Scheme code to read attributes

you're trying to do this in gnetlist right?
*smacks forehead*
I blame sitting at the computer for eight+ hours without eating...

Is there a way from guile in gschem to get a list of symbols? I've seen the way to get a list attributes from an object (get-object-attributes, I believe, assuming 'object' encompasses symbols, pins, etc) and name/value from an attribute is get-attribute-name-value, but not how I actually get the list of all symbols.

is there a reason to not just build a set of "heavy" symbols from a generic symbol and a file that lists specifics for each actual component supported?
Yes, because you have to decide ahead of time which part will actually end up on the board when all you really want is the electrical connectivity. For example, when you draw a NAND gate, do you really care if it ends up on a four-gate or eight-gate chip? So why do you have to choose right away?
